Three men charged over alleged Perth junior football club brawl

Three men have been arrested and charged by police following an alleged fight that broke out on the sidelines of a girls junior football match in Mount Lawley last month.

An altercation allegedly occurred between spectators after a player was sent off the field during the game at Hamer Park just before 8pm on July 26.

The spectators were watching a game between Mt Lawley-Inglewood and High Wycombe football clubs.

Following an investigation by WA Police, two Forrestfield men aged 50 and 18 were charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear before Perth Magistrates Court on August 30.

A third man aged 54 from Kewdale was charged with disorderly behaviour and will appear in court on September 2.

It is believed the West Australian Football Commission investigated the incident.

The fight occurred two days after a similar incident on the sidelines of an Under-9s soccer match in Mount Hawthorn.

Football West launched an investigation into the July 28 incident but no charges have yet been laid.
