Three hospitalised after Tesla and ambulance crash in Brisbane CBD
Three people are in hospital after a Tesla and ambulance crashed in the Brisbane CBD.
The black Model 3 sedan collided with street poles before rear-ending the ambulance about 3pm on Ann Street, between Central Station and King George Square.
Authorities report the male driver likely suffered a “medical episode” before the crash.
He has been taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition. Two paramedics were taken to the same facility after reporting head and neck pain.
“Shortly after 3pm a black sedan struck a number of poles before crashing into the back of an ambulance,” a spokesperson for Queensland Police said.
“Early information is that there are no life-threatening injuries.”
More than a dozen police, paramedics and firefighters remained on the scene at 4pm. Traffic has been diverted to a single lane.
“It was so loud we could hear it from the 18th floor,” one onlooker told Brisbane Times.
