Feb 01, 2013   Ali   Comments Off on Torrey DeVitto had ‘so much fun’ finally doing scenes with real-life husband Torrey, Vampire Diaries

Zap2It did this great article on Torrey getting to work with Paul on The Vampire Diaries.

Torrey DeVitto surely is one of the busiest performers on television today.

Joining Lifetime’s “Army Wives” when it starts Season 7 on Sunday, March 10, she’ll soon return to ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” in what she says are “a couple of episodes.” And fans of The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” will see her back there Thursday, Feb. 21, as Dr. Meredith Fell … whose help is sought by vampire Stefan, marking the first time DeVitto shares scenes on the series with real-life husband Paul Wesley.

“I always have so much fun going on that show,” the actress tells Zap2it of filming the episode. “I’ve known the whole cast for a very long time now, and they’re always so welcoming and sweet. Unfortunately — or, actually, fortunately — I had to start my ‘Army Wives’ role, so I was only on the set for one day, to finish up the episode.”

A recently published article suggested DeVitto would prefer not to work with Wesley, but she explains “that was sort of taken out of context. We had both done 11 episodes of the show and hadn’t worked together on it yet, and I said, ‘Maybe that’s a blessing in disguise. Maybe working together every day and then going home together would be a little too much, so maybe I prefer it this way.’

“Now that we’ve worked together, I actually said to my publicist, ‘I wish I’d never said that!’ I had such a great time working with him, and it was so amazing, I totally take back everything I said. We just have such a mutual respect for each other, and a similar work ethic.”

The daughter of longtime Billy Joel drummer Liberty DeVitto, the actress maintains she’s always interested in knowing what’s happening on “The Vampire Diaries.” She says she’d be prone to sneak a peek at her spouse’s scripts, “but I have so much reading of my own to do … no. We do run lines together, though, so I get to have my fix of what’s going on when we do that.”

Jan 22, 2013   Ali   Comments Off on Thirst for Thrills: Hit the Slopes With Actor Paul Wesley Interviews, Magazines

Mens Fitness did a feature on Paul and his love of snowboarding.

The star of “The Baytown Outlaws” and “Vampire Diaries”, tells us about his natural habitat and why he feels at home on the mountain—and how you can, too.

We had a little sit-down chat with The Baytown Outlaws star Paul Wesley to discuss his true icy passion–snowboarding:

MF: How did you get into snowboarding in the first place?

PW : I grew up in Jersey, and we have Hunter Mountain there, so we’d go nonstop in the winter. We used to travel all over Vermont and New Hampshire—it was just part of my childhood. I was on a ski team when I was seven years old, and I shifted into snowboarding when I was about 13. I’ve been hooked on it ever since. One of my biggest problems with being out in Atlanta [for filming] is that there’s no mountain to snowboard. I literally feel like I’m in a desert with no water.

MF: What’s your favorite terrain? Downhill? Snowpark?

PW: When I was younger, and I didn’t give a shit about breaking my bones or falling on my face, I’d do the half-pipe. Now that I’m an old man, I feel like Warner Brothers would sue the shit out of me if I broke a bone in my body, so I’m definitely a little more cautious. For the first time in my life, I’m wearing a helmet. I like to basically shoot down as fast as I can—I mean, I love getting fresh powder and carving, but one of the biggest thrills is trying to go so fast that my cheeks are [being pulled from my face] by the wind velocity.

MF: Is it true you once got a speeding ticket from the ski police?

PW: The last time we went, the ski police—who actually do exist—gave me a ticket for speeding. I can’t imagine they had radar, but I guess I was going too fast and endangering other skiers. So I was literally written a ticket. It was kind of hilarious. I didn’t even know there were ski police.

MF: Where, in your experience, is the best place to board?

PW: Lately, I’ve just been doing a lot of West Coast riding, which is infinitely better than East Coast riding. You just don’t get the same conditions on the East Coast—it’s way icier. Whistler, B.C., is one of my all-time favorite places to go because the town itself is so stunning. It really just depends on whether you get dumped on. If you can catch a sunny day after a massive storm and it’s just fresh powder, you can fall all over the place and not get hurt.

MF: What’s your best snowboarding memory? Have you landed anything you’re particularly proud of?

PW: When you’re a kid, all you care about is doing tricks. I remember when I landed my first 540—I landed backside. For me, it was, like, the greatest achievement ever—and my friend caught it all on video. Nowadays, I don’t really have that. But I still enjoy the peace snowboarding gives me. It just makes me forget about everything else and enjoy life. It’s really therapeutic.

Jan 18, 2013   Ali   Comments Off on ‘Vampire Diaries’: Stefan and Rebekah Conspire Over the Cure Vampire Diaries, Video

The Hollywood Reporter released this article today about the partnership between Stefan & Rebekah …

The winter premiere of The Vampire Diaries put two unlikely allies together, and in a new scene from next week’s episode, it’s darn entertaining to watch.

Even though Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) are new partners in crime, it still doesn’t give Rebekah reason to be more cordial — or normal — when it comes to interacting with the Salvatore brother. It’s revealed in the scene that through all the hardships and heartbreak, Stefan continues to pour out his thoughts and feelings in his diary; needless to say, Rebekah has a bit of fun with that.

But are Stefan’s intentions in this new team-up really beneficial to Rebekah, who utters fandom-esque terms like “Team Klaus” and “Team Shane,” when thinking up a plan in the race for the cure? Time will tell.

For now, the duo has hatched step one to gaining a leg up on Team Klaus and Team Shane. Will they be successful?
