Okay if you haven’t watched last night’s season finale … stop reading now!

The Hollywood Reporter did a Q&A with Julie Plec on the plans for season 6!

Following the season-five finale, executive producer Julie Plec talks to THR about the return of a fan favorite, Elena’s devastation and the mysterious fates of Damon and Bonnie.

The Vampire Diaries is heading for a “reset.”

With Mystic Falls still cloaked under the “no-magic” spell and Damon and Bonnie dead, The CW drama won’t look the same when the new season kicks up again in the fall. A substantial amount of time will have passed and the gang may not be in one place – at least not in the early going.

“The way we look at it, season six is a beautiful and organic reset. The theme of the season is everybody gets to start over. That’s what we’re going to do,” executive producer Julie Plec tells The Hollywood Reporter.

The new season will be a departure from the “massive genre extravaganza” Vampire Diaries has become, instead putting the focus back on character and their often complicated internal and psychological conflicts.

“We’re trying to take the show away from the massive genre extravaganza where each season we try to top each other with the bigger bad, more exciting mythologies and boil it back down to the beginning, which is tension, suspense, romance, psychological horror, simple horror, vampires living in secret, people discovering their secret and coming after them,” Plec promises.

“Our heroes who have splintered off need to find their way back to each other emotionally and geographically as they fight to restore order to their home so they can actually return and not be scattered for good.”

E!Online’s Kristin Dos Santos spoke with Paul & Nina at the CW Upfronts today and got some scoops.

To watch the video interviews go here.

By a show of hands, who else screamed, “Oh dear God… NO!” at the end of last week’s jaw-dropping episode of The Vampire Diaries? (You should all be proudly waving your hands in the air right now.)

Tonight, our television screens will be graced with Vampire Diaries’ highly anticipated season five finale, and we’re desperate to learn the fate of our beloved Stefan Salvatore now that he has passed on to the Other Side. And we’re worried about the rest of our vampire pack too, of course!

To help prepare you for all the heart-pounding drama ahead, we caught up with stars Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev at The CW’s upfronts presentation on Thursday and asked them to spill as many exclusive secrets as possible. WARNING: We’ve got steamy spoilers on a fan-favorite romance, a shocking cliffhanger and an update on how much longer The Vampire Diaries will stay on the air. Read and watch at your own risk!

Frist things first, when we last saw Stefan he had just had his heart ripped from his chest, before ultimately passing through Bonnie (Kat Graham) into the spirit afterlife. (We’re tearing up just thinking about it!)

So of course we asked Wesley his character’s current undead state, and the actor was hilariously open about Stefan’s recent experiences, “Oh yeah I’m dead, I’m dead—I actually kind of forgot about that.” the CW star said with a laugh. ” Everyone is dead on the show… I’m a new kind of dead.” Wesley revealed that one of the main characters in tonight’s show “goes to a new place.” Whether that place is good or bad, we’ll let you be the judge.

Plus, we snagged great news for all you Steroline shippers out there! Wesley revealed his ideal plan for the vampire BFF’s and believe us when we tell you it is H-O-T! (Spoiler Alert: The words “crazy make-out session” were used!) Check out our full interview with the TVD hunk above for all the steamy finale scoop and why Wesley hopes to say goodbye to good Stefan forever.

Like her co-star, Dobrev offered up an amazing teaser as to what fans can expect in tonight’s finale: “It’s going to have a huge cliffhanger. It gets crazy this last episode. It’s sweet because something happens, and you see some familiar faces, but then we’re going to lose some faces.” the TVD actress revealed.

“We go into an alternate reality and let’s just day, whatever you expect—don’t. Because it’s not going to turn out the way you think it will, it’s actually very sad.” Dobrev added, “I cried when I watched it.” You here that, TVD fans? Better have a few dozen boxes of tissues on hand.

Check out our full interview with the vampire beauty below to get the scoop on Damon and Elena’s newly accepted romance, and the real reason as to why Ian Somerhalder was missing from The CW’s red carpet!

Okay TV Guide gives us a rundown of what to expect tonight. And all I have to say is I am going to be one mad fan if Stefan stays dead!

Stefan isn’t really staying dead on The Vampire Diaries, right? That’s the big question heading into Thursday’s Season 5 finale.

As the Other Side crumbles and The Travellers’ plan to rid Mystic Falls of all spirit magic is in full effect, it’s a race against time to figure out how to solve those very big problems. With Stefan (Paul Wesley) having his heart ripped out in the final moments of last week’s episode, now more than ever do Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Bonnie (Kat Graham), Caroline (Candice Accola) & Co. need to pull together to bring Stefan back — and also save themselves from impending doom.

Who won’t make it out of Season 5 alive? Will Caroline address her feelings for Stefan? Which familiar faces can we expect to pop up? We’ve gathered our best intel from executive producer Caroline Dries, with some help from the Salvatore brothers, to share what to expect from the Season 5 finale.

    Team Bonnie and Damon
It’s about time, right? Unfortunately, things are majorly tense between them. However, the finale is such an ordeal that the duo will experience a myriad of emotions. When we pressed Somerhalder about said scenes, he could hardly contain his excitement. “We had some scenes in Season 2 where Damon and Bonnie had a f—ing awesome connection and the studio and the network and producers were like, ‘No more, no. This is about Damon, Elena and Stefan and that’s why you never see Bonnie and Damon,” he tells us. “So I am excited as hell that I get to do stuff with Kat in [finale].”

    A distraught Elena
Nina Dobrev will prove that this MVP award was no joke. While the episode’s event will lead Elena to spring into action, other developments will also cause a big emotional breakdown. (Seriously, have your tissues nearby.) But don’t worry, she’ll definitely have a certain someone to comfort her.

Stefan and Caroline’s feelings are (finally) addressed
Their chemistry might be crystal clear to fans, but not so much to everyone in Mystic Falls. Well, that’s about to change when someone finally addresses the elephant in the room. But if Stefan survives, is there actually a future for these two? And are Stefan and Caroline truly over their first loves? Dries tells us, “[Stefan and Elena’s] relationship has evolved so much and they share such mutual respect for each other that we wanted them to have a meaningful friendship moving forward… but in terms of romance, at the moment at least we said he’s moved on.” As for Caroline, Dries adds, “I don’t think she’s going to rekindle things with Tyler, but we don’t want to rush her into anything either. We want every step of her love story — with whomever it’s with — to feel meaningful and organic.”

    Reunions galore
We’ve already seen some familiar faces this season, but even more fan favorites will return in this episode. As to who, you’ll get a distinct sense of one of them within the first few minutes. Not only will this person’s arrival make a character really happy, but viewers as well.

A very different feel for Season 6
Yes, lots of shows “reset” themselves, but trust us, next year will really feel different. Wesley previously told us, “[The finale] definitely establishes new parameters in the environment we’ll be shooting in Season 6 … They reset things in a way and the writers have the ability to now change the circumstances and locations of where the show takes place.” Asked if that means establishing another world, Dries reveals, “It won’t explore where Vicki disappeared to [in Episode 18], but we will be seeing a lot of newness in Season 6. The finale will have major effects on our characters and they all will have their own way of dealing and moving on. We think of it as the college metaphor. You leave for college and then when you come home to visit, everything feels a little different and eventually you realize you don’t really live there anymore.”

Next week is the season finale because after the way last night’s episode ended Ali is a bit upset!

Heartbroken by an unexpected tragedy, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is focused on holding himself together, while pushing Bonnie (Kat Graham) harder than ever to find a way to stop the disintegration of the Other Side. Elena (Nina Dobrev) takes matters into her own hands and demands that Liv (guest star Penelope Mithcell) and Luke (guest star Chris Broshu) help her, but Liv refuses to cooperate until Caroline (Candice Accola) provides her with some personal motivation. Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) is horrified when Markos (guest star Raffi Barsoumian) uses violence against Tyler/Julian (Michael Trevino) to prove that Mystic Falls is now under the control of the Travelers. With new information from Sheriff Forbes, Damon comes up with a dangerous plan that relies on split-second timing from Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig). Liv’s off-hand remark regarding Stefan (Paul Wesley) gets a surprisingly emotional response from Caroline. As conditions on the Other Side worsen, Bonnie takes the opportunity to settle an old score. Finally, Damon’s plan causes a massive explosion in Mystic Falls, and everyone is caught up in the confusion, leaving a trail of heroism, sacrifice, relief and despair.

Paul did a Q&A with the Humane Society of the United States for All Animals Magazine.

Paul WesleyAs the protagonist Stefan Salvatore on TV’s hit series The Vampire Diaries, Paul Wesley has earned millions of fans. Offscreen, Wesley is diving into a new role: ending the use of gestation crates in the pork industry. In February, he wrote the CEO of Seaboard Foods, the nation’s third-largest pork producer, urging the company to quit confining sows in pens so small they can’t turn around. He also tweeted his fans, asking them to push for better treatment of pigs.

Wesley, who in 2012 co-hosted the H-Couture fur-free fashion show, will receive The HSUS’s Humane Generation Award this year. In this edited interview with senior writer Karen E. Lange, he talks about getting the word out about America’s meat industry—and his new pet.

What got you interested in farm animal welfare?
I watched several documentaries, including Food, Inc. I was appalled at how little the general public knows. I looked through my pantry and refrigerator, and many of the products were sourced using factory farming. I realized that supporting factory farms was not a conscious choice on people’s part, but they lacked information.

Did spending time in Poland as a child give you a different perspective on farm animals?
When I was younger, my grandparents and I did not go to grocery stores. If we wanted milk, we went to a farm. For honey, we went to the beekeeper. I think corporations have become obsessed with profit and in doing so have lost any and all ethics.

Can you trace your concern for animals back to your childhood?
I grew up with cats and as a child loved our family cats dearly. That’s probably my first real experience of actually loving an animal. Also, one summer in Poland, when I was probably 9 or 10, I was on vacation and several miles down the road a large scary-looking dog was chained up to a farmhouse. One day, I snuck out, brought food, and he and I slowly became friends. For three weeks I spent every day sneaking him food. By the end, he would wait for me and we would hug and wrestle.

Do you have any pets now?
Earlier this year, on the night before the Atlanta snowstorm, I was walking home from the gym. It was well below freezing outside. I found an 8-month-old kitten crying for help under a car. Now she is my cat.

What impact do you hope to have with your advocacy work?
Using Twitter and other social media outlets, I hope I can educate the younger generation and hopefully reform the way we consume food in America. We need to respect all animals as if they were the pets we love at home.
