ET Online gives us an exclusive look at Stefan & Damon ala 1990s!

What’s better than seeing two extremely handsome immortal brothers? Flashing back to their grunge days in in a past decade, that’s what.

Prepare to swoon, Vampire Diaries fans. Not only does our favorite blood-sucking series return Thursday, Oct. 2 for their sixth season, but we’ve snagged an exclusive sneak peek at one of this fall’s most highly anticipated moments: A Salvatore flashback to the 1990s coming up in episode four!

ETonline was the first to exclusively report that TVD fans would be traveling back to the decade of flannel shirts and jelly sandals, and now we’ve got even more scoop about why this flashback will be so important. Adding to the awesome, this is the very first photo that proves that Damon will return to Season 6—at least in a flashback. (You’re very, very welcome Ian Somerhalder fans.)

Our ’90s time-jump will take place in episode four, which airs Oct. 23, and although we’re thrilled to see the Salvatore brothers reunited, we’re weary of the “tumultuous time” the episode logline reveals: “When Damon and Bonnie realize that uncovering a time in Damon’s past may provide clues to finding their way home, Damon is forced to relive one of the worst days of his life.” Yikes!

Meanwhile in the episode, Stefan is stunned when an unexpected visitor shows up, Elena struggles with post-Damon life, and fans can get excited for a bromantical Alaric and Jeremy moment.

The Vampire Diaries’ sixth season premieres Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. on The CW.

What do you think happened to Damon in the ’90s that was so terrible? Are you desperate to see Bonnie and Damon find a way back to life? And who else thinks that the brothers are looking all kinds of sexy?

TV Line gives us a rundown of what we can expect in the new season!

The vamps are (almost) back in town.

Actually, while The Vampire Diaries will soon return for Season 6 next Thursday, Oct. 2 (The CW, 8/7c), there’s still a magical wall keeping supernatural beings out of Mystic Falls. And that’s not even the biggest problem in store for Elena and the gang.

TVLine got a sneak peek at the season premiere, followed by a Q&A with executive producer Caroline Dries, and we’re sharing some teasers about Elena’s state, Damon and Bonnie’s whereabouts, Stefan’s new girl, Caroline’s bruised heart and much more. Read on to get the scoop:

    * Damon’s death will reveal a dangerous new side of Elena.

    * Stefan is far removed from Mystic Falls as he searches for a witch who can talk to the dead. He even adopts a different “life” with a new job — and a new girlfriend?! “We get to learn what his process is as a vampire, starting over and living a different identity,” Dries teases.

    * If you sensed some tension/flirtation between Tyler and Liv in this sneak peek, you’re not crazy.

    Vampire Diaries Season 6 Spoilers*
The biggest struggle for resurrected Original vampire Alaric isn’t bloodlust — it’s his lack of game when it comes to the ladies. “One of the problems he’s going to be having is just how to go on a normal date and be a normal guy again,” Dries says. Elena’s pretty new doctor mentor Jo (played by Prison Break‘s Jodi Lynn O’Keefe) “is going to bring that side out of him.”

    * Caroline’s got a new place of residence, a new mission — finding a way to take down that magical border — and a lot of unreturned calls to Stefan. Ouch.

    * With the Mystic Grill under renovation, Matt finds a new purpose in life. Sadly, the same cannot be said about wayward Jeremy.

    * New series regular Michael Malarkey isn’t in the season opener, but fret not, Enzo fans, he’ll be back in Episode 2. “He is up to something that is on point with what’s going on in the Damon/Stefan story,” Dries teases.

    * As for Damon and Bonnie’s whereabouts, all we can say without being turned into a member of the undead is that the mystery will be addressed.

    * Doppelganger schmoppelganger. The “D” word has not been uttered once in the season’s first 10 episodes, Dries reveals. Instead, this season will “pepper in” the mythology, and witchy twins “Liv and Luke will play an important part” in that story.

The cast & crew of the Vampire Diaries & the Originals are taking time to honor one of their own! Read below as Julie Plec sits down and discusses Sarah and the walkathon with Kristin Dos Santos.

Earlier this year, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals family lost one of their own in a tragic accident.

Sarah Jones, a young camera assistant in Georgia, lost her life while working on the film set for the Gregg Allman biopic Midnight Rider due to unsafe working conditions. Today would have been her 28th birthday, and the TVD and Originals cast and crew are honoring her in an incredibly meaningful way.

Members from both CW hit shows banded together to organize a 5K walk-a-thon in Atlanta, where both shows film, on Sunday, October 5, led by Jones’ parents, Richard and Elizabeth Jones, along with her brother Eric. All proceeds from the event will go to the Sarah Jones Film Foundation.
We were so moved when we heard about this amazing event that we sat down with TVD/Originals boss Julie Plec so she could tell us all about how the walk-a-thon will honor Jones and help her family. Watch our exclusive interview with Plec below!

“She was a really beautiful girl and a really wonderful person and extremely close with the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals,” Plec said. “So the crews of both shows and some of the cast of both shows have all been invited. We’re going to have fun making it a full social media experience for everyone and get people to tweet along as they walk, other crews across the country can walk with us, we’re going to try to put together a Spotify playlist…and it’s a fundraising experience.”

Plec continued, “She will be missed, and this is our way of celebrating her.”

You can tweet along with the walkers in attendance using the hashtag #SafetyForSarah and follow along @SlatesForSarah for updates. You can also donate online here or send donations directly to:
